Carbs Equal Energy

Carbs are your friend when it comes to training hard. Carbs act as a fuel for your muscles (before and after). Eating carbs before you train will ensure that you have extra glucose on hand and allow for your glycogen stores to replenish.  Even things like granola, fruit, and oatmeal can provide quick energy.

Protein, Bro

Consuming a little bit of protein before the training session is a good idea. Strength training and heavy lifting tears into the muscle fibers. When it’s time to rest, your body is working on preparing those tears, which build your muscles bigger and stronger. Protein aids in this process. Go for a source of protein that is easy to digest and don’t gorge yourself. Proteins include nuts, turkey, eggs, or yogurt.

Drink It Up

It’s not secret that hydration plays role in training and even health in every day life. But hydration also aids in providing energy needed to train and recover from training. Hydration will also help prevent muscle cramps and spasms. Hydrating before, during, and after its important for maximum effort to be put forth.
