How you are mentality effects your fitness as much as what you do physically. It’s not enough to show up at the gym, you have to come ready to work.

Getting into the right mindset before you start crushing weights is going to help you pull through when you don’t want to and hit those numbers.

If you aren’t in the right mindset, it’s almost as bad as not coming to the gym at all.

Remember Your Why

Sometimes we forget why we start something. We forget why we started coming in the first place. This does not just apply to fitness, but other areas of life. When we are feeling low of motivation, it’s time to step back and remember why we got started. When you have a strong why it can carry you through almost any how. You suddenly have fuel to hit the gym with the intention of giving it all you got.

Rest, Don’t Stress

We have to get out of this mindset that the only way to achieve our goals is going 24-7. This isn’t true. Rest is vital to recovery and aids in the fitness journey. If you aren’t resting, you are setting yourself up for high-stress levels, injury, and perhaps giving up altogether. If you are constantly going and never take a breather, you will burn yourself out. Make sure that your mind, body, and soul is at rest before walking through the doors.

Celebrate Milestones

Too often when we reach a goal we move right on to the next one. This is a mistake and can cause you to feel like you are always striving and never arriving. When you hit that weight or make that lift, celebrate it. Acknowledge that you have achieved something that has been on your list. Don’t cheat yourself by not giving yourself a pat on the back.
