1. Hydrate

We can’t say this enough. Not only is it vital for your body to get enough water, but it also serves as one of the best fat-burning agents on the market. Your liver, which is an organ that process fat, needs water in order to function properly.

When we get dehydrated, it actually slows the fat-burning process down. It also has negative effects on muscles and joints. Beat the heat with water. You should be drinking half your body weigh in ounces and perhaps a bit more with Summer here.

2. Eat More Frequently

That’s right! Increasing the frequency of your meals can help you get lean and mean. Now, this doesn’t mean eating sugary snacks all day every day. The quality of your food matters. Your body needs complex carbs, healthy fats, and lean proteins throughout through day in proper amounts. Talk to your coach about the best food routine for your day as it will vary from person to person.

3. Eat After You Train

If you’ve been lifting for a while you know this one by heart. It’s vital that you have a post-workout meal ready for recovery after every session. This is important for building muscle, re-energizing, and recovery as mentioned before. But it’s not just about what you eat after, but what you eat BEFORE too. Make sure you have a pre and post-workout meal plan before training. You need good food for fuel before and good food to rebuild your muscles after.

4. Sleep, Sleep, Sleep

Your body needs rest. The idea that you have to work, work, work and never stop is a lie and could really damage your body. The body needs rest just like it needs good nutrition. Make sure you are getting enough sleep at night. People who don’t get enough sleep suffer from a slower metabolize, lower testosterone, and a higher level of hunger throughout their day. Don’t let these things work against you. Get your rest!
