For those who are committed day in and day out to training, when we get to the gym, we want to hit the ground running, lifting, and pumping.

We’ve got goals to hit, weights to crush, and a life to build. But not so fast.

It’s true that we are here at the gym to lose weight, build strength, and boost our confidence. The issue is when we walk into the gym and immediately hit the bench, bar, or ground. What’s missing here?

The workout warm up.

For those who avoid the warm-up or believe it’s a waste of time, those are the ones who are getting injured in the gym. In fact, people might find themselves hurting themselves, and losing weeks, even months, of training time because they didn’t take the time to warm up.

Here at Fenix, the warm-up is not optional and for the very reason above. Warming up helps to avoid injury during workout, and gets our bodies in a place to handle the stress of lifting. Warming up is one of the most important aspects of working out.

Throughout the day, most of our body is not being used, especially those who drive all day, sit all day, and stare at a computer screen. Because of the lack of activity, our bodies are tight and constricted. Which means that we have to pregame our muscles so to speak. We need to get those muscles loose, active, and warmed up. This not only keeps you away from injury, but it keeps you strong!

Other benefits of warming up include the improvement of blood circulation and help gain in flexibility. Both contribute to helping you lift more, stay strong, and avoid injury while in the gym.

The goal is to prepare your body to perform at top level.

The workout warms up is going to maximize results and minimize risk.

So don’t skip it!
