When it comes to training, it’s no secret that the muscles and the body need proper recovery time in between sessions. With the breaking down of the muscles, it’s vital that recovery is apart of everyone’s workout routine.

Resting and recovering is one of the most important aspects of working out. It’s crucial to allow your body time to recover, and make sure you are recovering in the right way. This enables you to continue to train and get the most out of every session.

If you are not allowing for proper fitness recovery, you are risking injuring yourself.

The whole reason for recovery is to allow your muscles time to repair themselves. Taking the time to rest and recover is vital for health, strength building, and avoiding injury.

There are a few things you can do when recovering.

Sleep:

Sleep is huge! As we say at Fenix, sleep to recovery, eat to recover. Allowing yourself to get the proper amount of sleep, and good quality sleep is going to help in the recovery process.

Nutrition:

As we just mentioned, eat to recover. This also includes staying hydrated. Both hydration and nutrition help in restoring the body’s energy levels. Eating good, healthy food will help in recovery and enhance performance.

Massage Therapy:

Massages are a great way to loosen muscles, increase blood flow to the muscles, and oxygen. It also removes acid buildup and allows for nutrients to be delivered from your body to your muscles.

No matter how you train or where you train, recovery is vital for every person lifting and building strength. Be sure you are taking time to recover and the way you are treating your body outside of the gym is helping, not hindering.
