It’s time to get started.
The New Year is almost upon us and that means one thing: goals.
Now, anyone can start goals at any time throughout the year and having a holiday to kick your butt into gear shouldn’t be only thing motivating you. But because society general starts thinking about fitness and health during the New Year, we thought we’d mention it.
With some many people considering returning to the world of health and fitness, we wanted to go over a few things to get you ready before walking through the door of a Tulsa gym.
Shall we begin?
Knowing Where You Are Physically
First off, understand that this is something that a trainer or coach can help you with. There are also programs designed to help asset where you are and what the focus should be. The reason this is important is that you are not going to be at the level you were in high school or college. This is especially true of men who decide it’s time to focus on their health. Keep in mind that you are most likely not going to be able to lift what you did back then. This will do two things.
- Give you realistic expectations
- Avoid injuring yourself
Deciding a Program That Fits You
Everyone has different goals. A good gym and coach knows that their program isn’t for everyone. Even though they want it to be, they know that someone things are better suited for different types of people. For example, we have several women in our program who tried out boot camp style workouts but it simply wasn’t for them. They found a better fit in the Fenix training program. Finding out where you belong is crucial and will help you achieve your goals.
Get Started
Make a plan, work the plan, and ask questions. Places like the Fenix are designed to help members get the answers they need about training, recovering, and nutrition. But coaches can only help you so much, you have to show up and put in the work.
Everything else will follow after that.
