Holidays are here.

In fact, we are right in the middle of them.

Cold weather. Hot drinks. Tasty treats. And the offering of so many delicious things around every corner. What we need is a plan. A plan to stay on track and not miss out on all the holidays bring to us.

We can still be healthy and enjoy the most wonderful time of the year.

Shopping

It’s going to happen. You’re going to see those tins of cookies, those pies as big as your face, and all the holiday treats screaming your name from the check-out line. Pause, think, and consider before answering the call. There’s nothing wrong with having a few sweet things around the house, but make sure it’s not the only thing. Make sure that along with the extra snacks, you are getting healthy snacks.

Keep to the Routine

We’ve talked about how important a workout schedule is and sticking with it. The holidays can sometimes make us forget, with all the parties, family coming into town and local activities. Make sure you are scheduling everything around your workout. Don’t break your routine simply because there are few changes happening. Make them as important as a business meeting or doctor’s appointment.

Just Say No

This can be applied at every party, every outing, and every time to see the cookies staring back at you. Remember, you don’t have to say not every time, but keep in mind how often you are saying yes. Be sure that you are putting your goals first and not the cookie. Still having trouble? Remind yourself of your goals and how far you’ve come.

Hydration

It’s easy to forget you need water when you’re filled up on holiday drinks. There’s coffee, cider, hot coco, wassle, and a dozen other holiday drinks that take you home for the holidays. Be aware of how much you a drinking and how much water you need. Don’t forget about the importance of hydration, because make certain that your body won’t.
