Prepare Yourself Mentally
Sometimes the biggest cause of failure is not being focused on what we are doing. It’s crucial to clear your head of distractions, remember why you came to train, and get focused on the task at hand. Nothing else should matter when you step into the gym. Let the problems outside stay there until the training session is complete. You have to leave work, problems, and other issues at the door. You need to engage your mind, prepare your body, and focus. This is not a place to drag yourself in. Be ready to work. Be focused on hitting your goals.
Warmup Sets
Warmup sets are sometimes not viewed as important as the actual lifting. But the truth is that warmup sets are crucial to the success of the lift. The warmup sets allow you to focus on your form and get focused. It allows time for your body to be aware of what it’s going to be doing and to build up to that heavyweight. Don’t fly through the warm-up sets, but take advantage of them. It wakes the body up, gets it prepared, and allows you time to adjust your form before hitting the big numbers.
Eating the Proper Amount Before
Your body needs to fuel in order to lift. It’s important to make sure you are eating what you need throughout the day and eating the right kind of things. Before workout, you should be eating at least two hours before. This gives your body the fuel it needs for the training session but it also allows for digestion to take place. If you eat too soon, you will feel bloated and cause digestive problems. This can decrease overall performance. Talk to your coach to find out what kind of foods are ideal for eating before working out.
