Learn About Recovering From One of the Strongest Tulsa Gyms
Fenix Tulsa Strength and Conditioning is focused on our members not only getting the top training at one of the strongest Tulsa gyms but recovery. Recovery and rest are by far one of the largest contributing factors when training. Our bodies need time to recover from the strain put on them from working. The importance of sleep is crucial and here are a few things to remember before crashing.
1. Getting Enough Rest
Most people are not getting the amount of rest they need. This is true even for those who aren’t training. First, you need to know how much sleep you actually need to get fully recovered. We understand that everyone is different and some don’t require as much sleep as another. But it’s important that you find out what works for you. Find out that number, whether its 6 or 9 hours of sleep. Make sure you are getting what you need to be fully rested for the next day.
2. The Blue Light
When we say the blue light, we are referring to your phone, computer, or the tube. Our head coach suggests turning off these devices 30 minutes before going to bed. This will allow your mind to relax and go into the state it needs to get proper rest. Take care of all your things on these devices 30 minutes, or even earlier, before crashing for the night.
3. Establish Your Routine
Routine is huge when training and keep it consistent will help your body get into a healthy cycle. The same is true of your sleep cycle. Pick a time to go to bed every night and a time to wake up. We understand that most people want to sleep a bit longer on the weekend, but we recommend keeping to the cycle even on Saturday and Sunday. Building healthy habits and getting the right amount of rest will help you reach your goals faster.
Our goal as being one of the strongest Tulsa gyms is to build strong men and women. We want to help establish routines that push you towards your goals not further away. For more information about how to get proper rest speak to one of our coaches.
